Over 50 years ago, the University System of New Hampshire embraced a powerful goal: no matter where you live, no matter your age or income, if you鈥檙e motivated to pursue a college education, you should have access to it. In our earlier days as College for Lifelong Learning, we featured evening and weekend classes that fit the schedules of working adults. We steadily built upon this foundation as Granite State College until merging with the 糖心视频 in 2023 as the UNH College of Professional Studies. Our core values remain.

Thursday, May 21, 2026Bow High School teacher and UNH alum Meagan Burd was awarded the 2026 Christa McAuliffe Sabbatical for her work advancing literacy instruction across secondary classrooms and supporting teachers with practical reading strategies.Bow High School English teacher and UNH CPS online alum Meagan Burd has been named the 2026 recipient of the Christa McAuliffe Sabbatical Award. After completing UNH鈥檚 Reading and Writing Specialist program, Burd developed a project focused on helping secondary educators integrate structured literacy practices into all content areas. Drawing from her classroom experience, graduate studies, and mentorship from faculty member Chris Tate, Burd aims to bridge the gap between adolescent literacy needs and teacher support. Her work emphasizes practical, research-based literacy instruction that can be embedded into existing high school classrooms to improve student outcomes across disciplines.
